Casa Prati (Bed & Breakfast), Alagna Valsesia

This is an original and beautifully restored Walser building displaying all the original characteristics of the old Walser architecture.  Casa Prati is owned and run by our dear friend Marisa and has been in her family for many generations. 

It is centrally located at an altitude of 1200 metres just 50 metres walk from Alagna’s main lift station.

Marisa is a wonderful upholder of Walser mountain customs and is often to be seen in traditional dress and at work on her handicrafts.   Her father was an old local mountain guide and Marisa talks fondly of those days when her father was a guide.  Marisa’s brother Nando, oversaw the incredible restoration and did much of the work himself. 

Marisa offers warm and genuine Walser hospitality on a Bed & Breakfast basis.  The breakfast buffet has a selection of regional cheeses, hams and home made jams as well as cereals, fruit juices and a choice of coffees and tea.

Accommodation is available in Double/Twin bedded rooms, triple rooms and there one five person apartment room in the roof.  All bedrooms are very comfortably decorated in traditional wood and stone with ensuite facilities, telephone, satellite TV, fridge-bar, access to internet, balconies and electronically adjustable orthopaedic style beds ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

The whole building is an immaculate living example of fine Walser craftsmanship and is decorated throughout with original family memorabilia.
