Major food shops are open Mon-Fri 09.00 – 21.00, Sat 10.00 – 14.00
The same applies to pharmacies, post offices and branches of Vinmonopol, the State-owned wine and spirits monopoly.

Smoking

With effect from 1 June 2004, a smoking ban has been in place in all bars and restaurants in Norway.

Getting There / Air Transport

Airlines leave from many parts of the UK and indeed some low cost alternatives are available.  Remember to ensure that you book the conneciing internal flight if required, as most destinations in Arctic Norway are accessible only internally.
