Ski Touring Courses

This course is for all those who would like to learn ski touring techniques with tips and help from a professional.  You will be taught both practical climbing and skiing techniques during ski tours in the Valsesia and Monte Rosa area, there will also be theory lessons covering topography, orienteering, snow-studies, avalanche prevention and rescue after dinner in the evenings.

Day 1: Meet in Alagna in the afternoon, Hotel and dinner, presentation of the course.

Day 2: off-piste skiing, out of bounds ski techniques and basic skinning techniques. In the evening theory class on snow-studies and avalanche rescue.

Day 3: Ski tour. Skinning techniques and beacon search class. In the evening theory class covering topography and orienteering

Day 4: ski tour with practical orienteering exercise. In the evening theory about how to plan a ski tour.

Day 5: More technical ski tour with final alpine (cramponing) finish. Steep skinning techniques and technical climbing technique.
