Situated in at the foot of the Monte Rosa mountain giving central access to the whole of the “Monterosa Ski” area, there is a lot of alpine as well as cross country skiing on offer.
3 peaceful villages
Gressoney-La-Trinité and Gressoney-Saint-Jean are authentic Italian villages.
Both villages have good access to the slopes, and several bars and restaurants to enjoy. These are peaceful resorts to enjoy, with friends and family.
Staffal is the third part of Gressoney that is situated between Champoluc and Alagna. With a number of B&B's and a few hotels and bars, you have superb access to the slopes.
Ski Passes
Zuba is working with Monterosa Ski to ensure your ski passes are organised. The ski pass booking system works on the basis that the earlier ski passes are booked, the better the price. Zuba will ask you, the client, for the relevant information as soon as your accommodation is secured, so that we can make a swift booking for you.
Monterosa Ski 3 Valleys
From Friday 1st December to Sunday 14th April you can enjoy the slopes that connect the valleys of Ayas, Gressoney and Valsesia.
The sectors of Champoluc-Crest and Punta Jolanda close on Sunday 7th April, but the valleys remain connected between Frachey, Staffal and Alagna until 14th April.
Equipment Hire
Zuba works with Ambaradanspitz rental shop in Staffal.
Situated at the head of the valley, the shop is next to the Hotel Nordend. They have equipment for all types of skiing and boarding (including off-piste packs, skins and ski touring bindings).
The shop is open every day: 8am - 6pm
Guiding and Instruction
Zuba have partnered with Gressoney guides to provide the best guides for you to experience this massive off-piste skiing playground.
The Monterosa Ski area is a must for any serious off-piste skier. With its 4000 square kilometres of wild, untouched terrain the Monte Rosa always offers new opportunities and adventures to those skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers willing to take up the challenge.
There is no better and safer way to explore this wonderful area than under the expert guidance of our local mountain guides.
Get in touch with the Zuba team and we can book suitable guiding for your trip.
Ski School
Gressoney has different ski schools for each villages and ski area in which you can ski. We work with them all and can assist you to arrange lessons for you, your family and friends.
We also arrange off-piste instruction where more capable piste skiers can be shown the skills and techniques required to ski off piste. This can then lead to taking a mountain guide and exploring the wider ski area that the Monterosa offers.
The main ski school area at Stafal has a small nursery slope with a moving carpet to assist small children up and down the slope. There is also a play area for smaller children with cushonned toys.
The ski area in Gressoney St Jean is on the Weissmatten ski slopes. This can be a very good option for both junior and adult beginners with the slopes being less busy.
There is also a small ski school office in Gressoney La Trinite.
Gressoney is situated in the Val d'Aosta, just 1 1/2 hours from Turin. At 1385 metres altitude, Gressoney is nestled in the shadow of one of Europe's highest mountains the Monte Rosa and presents a haven for ski enthusiasts and mountain lovers.
